Xda-Developers | LG V40 ThinQ with 6.4″ QHD+ OLED display and five cameras launched in India for ₹49,990
The LG V40 ThinQ was launched in Q4 2018, bringing the display notch to LG's V-series. But that was not everything that the LG V40 ThinQ had going for itself, as the most hyped feature for the V40 was definitely its camera setup that consisted of three rear cameras and two front cameras. You can read our written review for the device here, or you can spend a few minutes watching our video review.

LG was planning to bring the V40 ThinQ flagship to India, and now, a banner on Amazon.in's homepage has confirmed these plans. According to Amazon.in, the LG V40 ThinQ will begin its open sale from January 20, 2019 onwards. Amazon Prime customers in India get an exclusive early-access sale for themselves on January 19, 2019 at 12 noon IST. The device will come in two colors at least – Moroccan Blue and Platinum Grey.
What remains a mystery is how the device will be priced. Sales in the premium segment of the Indian market have been dominated by OnePlus and Samsung, with global leaders like Apple losing their market share in this developing economy. If LG chooses to price the LG V40 too far away from Samsung's flagships, the device will very likely not be a popular choice.
To sweeten this currently-undisclosed deal, LG will be offering a few launch offers on the V40. Customers can avail a 10% instant discount if they purchase using HDFC debit and credit cards. LG is also throwing in a free screen replacement worth ₹16,750 (~$235 — that's more expensive than a new Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro) with the device, as well as no-cost EMI options up to 12 months and extra discounts on phone exchanges.
Stay tuned for pricing information on the LG V40 ThinQ.
Source: Amazon.inUpdate: The device is now available for open sale at a price of ₹49,990 (~$700) for 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant. This is certainly some aggressive pricing from LG considering how they used to previously price their device. But unfortunately, with the existence of devices like the POCO F1 at less than half this price, and the OnePlus 6T at a lower price point than this, LG would need to bank on aggressive marketing as well to ensure the phone sells well. Thankfully, the device is definitely cheaper than equivalent Samsung devices, which does make its job slightly easier.
